Fire Productions (fire)

Fire was founded by Donut Hole and Vendetta as a parody of iCE in July 1994. From the second pack onward, the group was led by Halaster, who gradually elevated Fire by recruiting talented artists from regional art groups. In March 1995, a planned merger with Mistigris failed and Fire collapsed shortly thereafter when Halaster quit the group to join ACiD. In August 1995, Halaster quit ACiD and revived Fire, turning it into a popular and critically successful group, which, at various points in time, was home to some of the most respected ANSI artists in the scene, including Prisoner #1, Iodine and Eerie. In February 1997, Halaster stepped down from his leadership position and handed the reins over to hirez artist God Among Lice to assume his duties as group leader and Eerie to take the position as coordinator of the ANSI section. When the latter unexpectedly left the group a pack later, Nail took over the ANSI section, subsequently recruiting more European artists into the group's ranks. However, with the rising popularity of the Internet and dropping interest in ANSI art Fire found itself struggling to stay true to its roots with more and more of its ANSI artists quitting the medium altogether, and so God Among Lice and Nail decided to end the group after pack #33, which was eventually released several month late in September 1998. In March 2021, Blocktronics released their 34th pack as Fire #34 with contributions by several former Fire members. Nail, who'd been a member of Blocktronics since 2015, left the group and scene shortly thereafter, only to return in summer of the following year with plans to actually revive Fire again. After consulting with Halaster and God Among Lice and recruiting friends from the by then defunct Blocktronics, the revival pack Fire #35 was released in December 2022. Fire has since adopted a steady release schedule of three packs a year and celebrated their 30th anniversary in July 2024 with the release of Fire #40.
